You should see what they say when you ask for parts for your Fountain.

I`m not reusing any of the short tie bar components .. just need 2 stupid clevis ends that are 1.5" thick and have a 3/4 hole, is that really that hard ???
Unbelievable these A$$HOLES.
I hate Latham.
Good luck to anyone who has to deal with these morons.

Thumbs up

lol, thanx Brad .
I`m not looking for a handout and would be more than willing to pay to have it made. As a matter of fact I will not accept anything for free but if you could help a brother out I would appreciate it . I know Izoom mike is local and he could also do it but he won`t take my money lol (I`ll have him tap the tie bar since thats a heavy piece)

Couple of ways to skin the cat ....
I ordered this piece to see how it would fit but it is an automotive part and the sleeve is 5/8" so it would have to be opened up to 3/4"
and the sleeve is 5/8

Ideally I would have liked to purchase these but apparently screwing those into a tie bar is just so difficult Latham can`t sell them to me.
I mean it makes sense , I went to buy brakes for my truck and was told because of the liability they can`t sell me brakes but would be happy to sell me a whole new car !!!!

option 3 is just machine this part longer :

Dan,

Whatever you wanna do. I'm pretty sure I can make whatever you need. There's nothing there that scares me.

Thanks. Brad.

I don't think I was clear enough, I moved the right parenthesis, to be better. LOL. But I think you knew that ?

Anyway, thanks for sharing some of the stuff you do. Always like seeing what different guys with machine shops can/will make. :thumbs

SB,

All good. If Dan’s got options, they’re his to exercise. I’m not hurting for work, and wasn’t campaigning for any. I’ve got all my nephew and I can handle at the moment. But I’m always available if somebody needs something, too.

Thanks on the pics. Again… Not showing off (maybe a little) or campaigning for work. Just wanted Dan to know he would get what he was expecting.

Thanks. Brad.

not defending or blaming but I have know Bobby for a loooooong time. I have broken IMCO tie bars before and bent others and with the world what it is the first thing that happens when something fails is Morgan and Morgan knocks on your door (ambulance chasers for those that dont know them). so they sell you a few hundred bucks of ends and the tie bar snaps and since know one knows who made it they go after the only name shown and they get hit for millions. I can understand their point, doesnt make it right or wrong just understandable.

Compedgemarine,

Yeeeaaahhhhh..... I'm assuming Dan won't remember where those parts came from, just the same as he's assuming I'd make them so that they won't break. 😎🤐

I fully agree with what you're saying about the scabs we otherwise refer to as lawyers, but I doubt he's gonna get any sort of liability promises from any custom machine shop, either.

Thanks. Brad.

I get it and not saying Dan would be the one to sue. lets say he goes out and the tie bar snaps, rolls the boat and is hospitalized or worse. along comes family member X and next thing you know leisure suit larry shows up. Latham has his name on all his ends so he takes the hit. Bobby builds a lot more stuff than boat steering or boat related so I can understand his position. with the way courts are now you can be sued for things you had nothing to do with so at some point you have to set the rules. it makes it hard for everyone and I deal with it all the time. simple things become an ordeal because no one wants the take the risk.
