I have 3 friends that live on boats up on fort myers.
1000-1200 month plus 150-200 electric a month. NOn existent Wi-Fi even though it is said it’s included so another 100 bucks. 2 halfway clean showers between 50 boaters along with a couple wash machines. 125 a month for a diver to clean the bottom and replace the zincs. This is a must or you’ll pay later. 4-5 years between bottom jobs $2-3000 if you do it yourself $5-6000 for the yard for 2 coats. survey every 3 -4 years for insurance $20 a foot but probably more these days . Neverending crap to be fixed on a boat sitting in saltwater plus interior systems , water pumps, heaters , holding tanks vacu flushes ,ac units you name it. Not cheap living on a boat and keeping it up. |

There are some slips in Punta Gorda, but there is a 2-3 year wait list. Also some moorings.
Nothing is cheap on the West coast of Florida. |

Get on the List , if your planning on living aboard good luck
Mooring buoys at fort myers beach are 350 a month with zero parking facilities. 3 bars and restaurants and a pool. My buddy had his boat up there for year and I thought the location was fantastic. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...bb95210c0.jpeg |

Many of the dirt ball liveaboards are just homeless people with boats and 2 dogs they can’t afford. Every time we get a storm a few sink or wash up on 41. |
