any less expensive wet slip in florida?
Hey guys !
Toying with the idea of buying a cruiser in florida, so i can have a ''place to stay'' as well as a boat at the same time, so looking (can't believe it) for a flying bridge 35 ish footer. Cost of wet slips seems to be... way much more expensive than in my neck of the wood! here, i can get a slip for 2500-3000$ for 6 months. So my guess was 6000 for 12 months right? I just begun hunting for info in 3-4 places and can't seem to find anything less than 1000$ ish minimum per month, not to mention other at 1800-2200$ per month! Maybe I am not wealthy enough to have a boat in florida... can't believe all those boaters all spend those crazy amount, and i calculated on 35 foot, so those having 45's and bigger... wow ! So, Am I simply not looking at the right marinas? or too poor ? |
That is why I keep our Sea Ray behind our house.

People are buying homes in South Florida just to park their boats/yachts bc of marina prices and availability.

With the closest lake being damn near 2 hours away it would probably pay itself off over a summer. $1000 a month is a chunk of change to me, but I’m also not the guy on the 600k boat either. Just curious, what part of Florida you looking? |
Try a “blue” state, should be some vacancies, as they seem to all be here.

Just as a comparison for the season it's $145-$155 per foot + $400 for shore power for the season. |

In CT there isn't a slip anywhere on the Sound. I wish they'd all go south so I could have some peace and quiet.

from riviera beach down to hollywood... makes me consider pulling the 45 down instead of buying a second boat....:)
https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...county-fl.html A place was recommended in this thread (new owners/improvements) but that area is rough (and it has been for 30-40 years when I lived just north of that area). Look at street view of that neighborhood for an idea. |
