Always wondered if OL would build one of those and let you provide your own driveline, stereo, steering, etc? Like basically sell you a hull on a trailer rigged minus power....I'm sure it would still be nuts expensive but if a guy had the extra parts and to be able to make it more your own I think would be pretty cool and maybe slightly more cost effective....

I'd bet OL is so busy they wouldn't want to be bothered with a hull on a trailer idea. Its a no money job and then you would be calling with 1,000 questions on how to finish it.
Buy an ex-raceboat like one of those canopy 28-29 footers like these if you want a cheaper route:

Cheapest way would have been to buy that "Eliminator 29" that was the OL hull but built out west. I think it was asking 180K and turn key.

Give them a call, talk to Dan. A lot of manufactures build bare hulls. A lot of them like it.
Or build one with their engine package, remove, sell and build your own. We've had a lot of clients with Formulas and Fountains do exactly that.
