Default Help Swampy find Ignition source (454)

Hello again Offshore Folks. It's cooler in FL so back to work on the Swamplizard:

I need help with finding the most appropriate source for Ignition (12-volts) as I am converting from mechanical fuel pumps to electric. Trying not to run wires all the way back up to ignition keys. Where do you guys pick up Ignition for these conversions?

Motors are are Mercruiser 454s 330HP peanut ported and carbed - no idea what year (long story).

Thanks again for any assistance you can offer!

Get ignition power from the + side of the coil or the ALT.
If there is a outboard post on the starter this can be used during starting to power the pump

If you don't have the outboard post on starter, can be wired this way

curious why you are going to electric pumps. are these mk4 blocks? if so mech pumps run hundreds of hours on those without issue.
