The 32B is what I would call a 3rd gen Skater, being very similar to the 28, 36, 40 and 46 that came after the 21/24/32A, but before the 32B. If you look closely at the 21/24/32A, they are all very similar in design (2nd gen), whereas the 32B design is very similar to the 28/36/40/46 (3rd gen). I think it's hard to say the 32A performed best with O/Bs, knowing how many U.S. national titles and overseas world titles the 32A racked up in the I/O classes through the years. One thing is for sure, the 3rd gen design performs better with both outboards and inboards, seeing as Pete never built another model based on the early 2nd gen designs.
To follow your analogy I always thought of the 32A like a lengthened 24 or 28 and the 32B like a shortened 36. The A being more of a fast calmer water boat and the B being more of a rough water boat, kinda like a Vette and a Hummer they both have their purpose

Today a 2000 28 Skater with twin 400's popped up for $159k on that place, you know...FB. Guy was located in Springfield, LA. No other listing available that I can find besides FB.

I would not recommend that setup for anything but smooth water running. A 28 does not work well in the rough with 1,400 #s of motors hanging off the transom. Everybody needs to remember that Pete originally designed and built that model for 2.4L motors that only weighed 375 #s apiece.

Its true. But 3 2.5OS was a lot better than you'd think!

I've been keeping my eye out for preferably a 32 with 400's but would take 300xs and upgrade eventually. There doesnt seem to be too much out there currently and what is out there seems to be a little above the price range i would be comfortable in.
