I'm not up on current insurance, but at first blush, it seems high, but that is one SWEET 30 year old boat, looks like new! Congratulations on such a nice survivor find!

Open87 - you might check with Progressive when it comes time to renew. I'm only paying $350 per year for similar coverages...

Thats almost 35% in 2 years.

I know to many on here those numbers are missing a few zero's .

I am tired of getting nailed in the azz with insurance. Between auto, home life, boat it is getting ridiculous!!!!!

Health insurance....what health insurance. What's that??? .... Sarc/

Rant of

421/560 = .75178 minus 1 = 24.8%
not sure where 35% came in

$421x 35%=147.35
$421+147.35 = $568.35

There is a $9 difference so yeah 33%

NOT 35% my bad.

That's the only reason I bought it.

Did put new flooring overlay , gauges, stainless top, new set of props and small stereo set up .

$421 to $560 is a 33% increase
$560 to $421 is a 24.8% decrease

In 8 years my insurance doubled on the same boat and i got no claim in... 25 years! From 900 to 1800 last year for 55k coverage snd 2M liability...so doubled on a small 55k vs real value and 5 k deductible
does not make any sense to me...

open87 01-22-2023 07:32 AM

Dam man . That sucks .

like my home .

its way underinsured now with average price $200 a sq ft in area today and if it burned to the ground today I’d only be able to re build half because it’s real value is no where near 200 , more like 95 and that’s what it’s insured for .
Was quoted like 8k to bring up to that 200 mark plus stupid high deductible.

Yes I am South of 1-10 ( which all insurance says high risk) but at what point do you say F it .?

Interesting times we are in .

Everything is just ridiculous right now. I really feel for people and don't know how they are getting by.

Bought a 10-pack of female connectors for my boat speaker project. 16gauge, very small connectors at Advance yesterday - $8 Bucks!!! Stopped at chipotle last week and got a steak bowl (no chips and just a complimentary water) $17 dollars!! Put $217 in the truck yesterday and felt like I was getting away with a good deal. It's really crazy.... I'll be interested, now that you've brought it up, to see what my renewal is this year
