Not that I’m aware of on the new motors.
Up to this point, most has been done in the ECU’s.
I have a buddy w/twin in-line 6 Verado 300’s on his 28’ Skater that says an ECU tune will take them to 420’s.
They do the same to the Yammi 250 HO’s, making them 326, I think.

Funny I like the new look of the V-8's. The thing that is crazy, I think the 4.6L 300HP V-8 is only 7lbs heavier then 300XS,,,,,,,,,, back to the GP 500 comparison when they first went 4 stroke, LOL
300R
300XS
300R
300XS
I don’t.
I do like the idea of the diesels though.
I want to see a pair on a 35’ CC and see how they do.
And, the new Mercs are in a different league!
Up until then, I’d still take a pair of 300 XS two strokes.
The new 450r’s are badd asss!
Theyre ugly as a box of rocks though.

Yep, that’s what sold me.
The 4 strokes have always been heavier until this family of motors.
My hot rod project motors of choice are 3.0 liter OMC loopers.
The DI E-tecs are basically the same powerhead but with 50 lbs of crap bolted to them.
So to make the 2-strokes emission compliant, they become the same weight as a 4 stroke.
One down side to the new 4 strokes, and even the older ones are that they are so complex, you can’t afford to rebuild one when it pops!
Same thing happened to the 4 stroke motocross bikes and PWCs.
When they pop, they are scrap.

Stick to etecs!
While the 300XS are better engines than etecs, that difference is not big enough to be worth the difference in price since
a) You will put them on a slow boat
b) Etecs are much cheaper used
c) You don't mind dealing with the Evinrude cr*p
d) Etecs sound much better at idle

E-etc powerheads are far superior to the XS’s w/even better emissions than the 4 smokes.
Bombardier just refused to embrace Hi Perf OB’s (like they do w/there sleds/skis) so the Merc has the far better mid and gear case which I would want for my 25 Convincor.
I should post some videos of my bud in Fla smokin hot rod 280’s w/his hot rod e-etc.
Hilarious!
Then puts his wife and dog in the boat and gest 9 mpg at 80 to the Gulf and back!

Got options now. Too heavy for my boat.
Cox redlines at 4000? Apparently has a ground up 4.4 V8. That’s surprising.
The OXE redline could let it get closer to gasser top speed. Should be able to turn a taller wheel due to the torque, if the turbo spools low enough. Just gonna have a fast idle speed around the docks.
I like Cox’s 5 yr 1500hr warranty.
