Out for the first cruise today, went down the river from Bimini basin to hanging out behind Sanibel island point by the lighthouse

Beautiful Sunset well grilling some ribeyes and shrimps.

This boat is like driving a condo complex around , there is no sensation of cruising 8 knots

I am a sailor so I am used to going slow and 8 knots in a sailboat fast and you can tell your moving.

My little brother lives on his 34 marine trader up in the basin and we are Hauling Azz to anchor up together

Mooring, security, etc….
In Florida you can anchor for free anywhere as long as your not blocking a navigable waterway.

A mooring is like 400 but you have no water or electricity.

Dock at salty Sams is 1200. I have a dock at a private residence in the cape for $ 600 and includes electricity and hot tub and pool.

Any day out on the water is a good day. I am glad that you are able to get out there and go for a boat ride.

The joys of boating.

One minute is Heaven passing out in my comfy chair on deck listening to my favorite tunes
to a perfect weather night , the next is waking up to the generator and all 3 a/c units shutting down .

The tide and wind has switched and the No Seeums are out and guests who don’t realize boating is not always air conditioned yachting are up and whining.

phuck generators, in my 50 years of dealing with them the only reliable one is a Honda the rest are a never ending pain in the azz

I have room for 2000 watts of solar on the pilot house roof and endless space for batteries even before I throw the genorator overboard.

No seeums are rough. You must have some back country left around there. Here in artsy fartsy Sarasota they chopped all the mangroves out a long time ago and I guess the bugs left with them.

anchored up outside Big Carlos Pass. I ran the inside from Mantanzas because I wanted to see the back waters and say Hi to my buddy on his 58 Hatteras.

No bridge operator at Big Carlos STILL. So had to squeak under New Pass bridge back out to the Gulf.

Fortunately I had a good contractors tape measure on board, this pig is tall with the mast and the antennas hanging off it, I Am at 27 feet.

The mast folds down but the electric winch isn’t working because the switch is a corroded mess.

It was a Joy waking up at 3 am with everyone biching that they were hot and than the Newseeumms were eating them while I am out on deck pulling the anchor and contemplating maunuerving out of a essentially non navigable pass on a low tide.

Chart plotter works great but all the navigation markets are still missing and that pass shoals over and changes weekly so a plotter is essentially worthless.

Bumped out of there on a outgoing tide for a hour to clear the pass than ran out due west to catch the first of the Sea breeze in the morning. Bunked down at 6 am until noon and started my day like a Rockstar with left over steak and eggs over easy with a Bloody.

So I spoke with the mechanic today about my speed issue’s as I am only able to to cruise at 7 knots at 2 gph

azzhole wants $56000 to hang some 12/71 blower thinkie off my 57 hp Yanmars claims That will make 87horse an engine now with 55 pounds of boost.

he suggested a intercooler thinking for another 10 thousand that will buy me another 7 hp.

he sounds like like a reputable guy. I met him online
