What is the average water depth for the Grass river and Torch river?

We have only driven up to watch the Boyne Thunder run by car. The water and area are beautiful. We just moved to LOTO from southern Wisconsin. It probably wouldn't be this summer. What's the chance we could trailer up with our new Bass Boat on calm days to explore the area. Draft issues are gone only needing a foot of water. Its a 22 foot Bass Cat with a Mercury 400R. That everyone is telling us that when I learn how to drive is faster than our Cigarette boat LOL. Our 2014 Active Thunder 33 Evolution with mercury 565s. The bass boat has supposedly run 90 plus with the experienced driver. Lake Bound is now located just past Captain Ron's and the Hurrican Bridge. Please reach out to meet our new local freinds.

Lake Bound I’m your neighbor, also a recent WI transplant. I’ve been on OSO for 15+ years but don’t have 10 posts in yet so no PM privileges. Call PBC and ask for Johnny B, or look for my 1987 Eliminator 23 Daytona, white w/rainbow gel job with Mercury Racing Blue 450R painted to match. I’m across from the lighthouse at 38MM.

As far as Torch Lake, it’s on my bucket list to visit. Friends and colleagues have been there with their boats and had great things to say.

For that chain-of-lakes, including Torch and Grass Rivers, you will have no issues in a bass boat at all. I've passed at least 24-28' cruisers going through Grass River while I was heading up to Bellaire. Staying in the middle of the channel helps.

We are heading up that way in July for Boyne Thunder. Finally talked my daughter and son-in-law into going up with the wife and I; they got a house on Deer Lake for the weekend, and I'd like to maybe drive down and rent a boat from Butch's early Friday for a Torch cruise. Gotta be back in Boyne City at 5 to help park cars 'n boats at the street show...

Higgins and Walloon also are excellent lakes. Boyne if you have a big boat so you could cruise out and even go to Traverse City, power island, sleeping bear dunes or fox islands if calm.

Grass river is very shallow on the turns in traffic as it shoals up. There's a couple of sandbars to nose in and take a break. A single I/O boat will be idling with the drive almost all the way up in a lot of places, and then the way back up stream you'll feel the ujoints complaining if you try to go above idle with it trimmed up that high and the toon boater behind you on his 8th summer shandy Leinenkugel wants to pass with his 7 kt hull speed doing 10 kts towing two kids on a tube in the river.
