They all break in rough sea's, even Apache's. Any race built boat with extra bulkheads will hold up better than a pleasure version.

For a rule of thumb, there are some things in general that make a boat good in rough water.
Longer length
Heavier weight
Narrower beam
More deadrise
More stringers and bulkheads

And which boat build you would say possess alot of all of these features?

I'm like you guys - if it's rough, I'm staying home. If I get caught in some bigger seas, I'll survive, but don't want to be there.

I have a 42 and it gets very small in the Bay very fast.

Some cargo ship end up sinking so...
no matter what size, you might find the sea too rough for any size boat!

I'm staying in, call me what you want but real 5s were never fun for me, in that 47 Apache it would be but for boats in the 30s I just turned around. Your passengers will not have fun unless they're hard core... Even then how much off that could they take?

Give me an nice sunny day, light wind chop to loosen the water up and a 1-2’ swell to launch off every so often and im
in heaven. Big water gets old, quick. Young man’s game.
