Cat crash in Louisiana over the weekend?

I have seen some posts of a Mti sideways way up in the woods today. Is it old pics or did one crash this past weekend ? Looks like it took out a bunch of trees on its way.

thisistank 04-17-2023 04:50 PM

Heard everyone is ok.

This recently redone 48/1350 rig went tree-squirrel hunting by the looks of it. I only joke about it because it was reported there were no significant injuries (thank God). It happened on the Tickfaw this weekend.

Anyone heard how this happened?

F-2 Speedy 04-17-2023 08:23 PM

so what time of the day / night did this happen ?

flat rate 04-17-2023 08:55 PM

That covered alot of ground !!

Skater30 04-17-2023 09:04 PM

It was during the day and the driver was not drunk. I'm not going to post anything more than that, as it's not my place. I just want everyone to not start speculating it was a drunken night escapade, as I hated it when my accident happened and so many online came to conclusions about what happened that were not true. Again, I'm just so thankful that nobody was hurt and we should all take this as a reminder to drive responsibly as we come into the season this year. This could happen to any of us, especially those of us that drive high speed cats.

Griff 04-18-2023 12:40 AM

:eekdrop: :eekdrop: :eekdrop: WOW!!!!!!!!!

Glad nobody was seriously hurt.

Markus 04-18-2023 04:32 AM

The green paint scheme makes it really look at home in the woods...

The Fountain boys might have to re-up their record (remember the 42 standing upright on its transom in the woods). Glad nobody was hurt, feel bad for all of the cat owners trying to get their insurance renewed next year! Pool of insurers is getting smaller and one claim like this is enough for an insurer to say enough is enough.

Looking at the tow straps on the rear of the boat, are those attached to a strong point in the boat (like how they lift raceboats with the crane) or is that going to just rip off the rear hatches?

Wildman_grafix 04-18-2023 07:46 AM

Wow that is amazing no one got hurt. Talk about luck.

Sydwayz 04-18-2023 07:58 AM

Absolutely a miracle that everyone survived that.

Hoodoo 2.0 04-18-2023 08:27 AM

Looks like a “pick your lumber” plane crash.

Interceptor 04-18-2023 09:30 AM

Frightening ride.

Look to be right at the transom line, so I suspect those are the hanging rings for his boathouse or similar. Should hold as long as they don't totally punch/jerk it out of there

Thank goodness everyone is ok! It could happen to any of us.

mikesufka 04-19-2023 06:59 AM

Any idea how fast he was going ? That is just incredible.

MDS

Markus 04-19-2023 07:00 AM

About 7 mph slower than a corresponding Skater.

Wildman_grafix 04-19-2023 07:10 AM

Kind of wonder if he was avoiding someone.

Remember when OSO was the place to learn about an accident like this, now it's all over Tik Tok, Instamodel, and snatch chat lol!

Sounds like they were realatively experienced boaters, going fast, maybe touching it off with another boat, accidentally trimmed down too far while cornering which hooked, caught, over corrected, which sent them into the woods. Miraculously they are ok, doesn't sound like anyone was ejected, and the boat held up better than most of today's paper mache would!!!

The post above said ejected, what you seen said they didn't?

Knot 4 Me 04-19-2023 10:55 AM

I would have thought they were ejected before the boat ran up on shore. I think there would be a very different outcome if everyone was in the boat up thru the trees. Just thankful everyone will be OK.

No doubt - objects in motion, stay in motion....

The boat decelerated to 0 on the tree BURIED into the port sponson at the tunnel...the passengers would have kept travelling under inertia until they too hit something (dash/ seat backs/ whatever)...helluva abrupt stop

Bad circumstances but at the very least, good to hear everyone will recover

seafordguy 04-19-2023 08:39 PM

If that was truly a 130MPH crash and everyone survived that's a miracle.

Hope everyone pulls through

Eddienel 04-19-2023 08:48 PM

That’s what happens when you drink the worm buckets.

JPEROG 04-20-2023 06:31 AM

My guess is the the outcome would have been worse if there were occupants on board for the wildlife portion of the ride. Sure glad everyone will be okay and its just another chance for all of us to learn from. Narrow waterways don't leave room for error....

Joe
