If you look at the pictures of the drive when it’s in flight, you don’t see
an input shaft, you can see trim and steering hoses, but no
input shaft, an ITS input shaft would be hard to miss.
If you look at the picture when it’s at rest, I’m thinking you can see the
center section of the u joint assy, I’m guessing it ripped the cross shaft
out of the rear u joint, so the input shaft stayed in and the 1” hole stayed plugged.
