In 2000 my parents from Florida were out in Seattle RVing. My wife and I flew out to visit them as they always kidnapped our at the time 6 year old son for the summer.
Long story short my dad being a Korean war vet was invited along with other vets on a big aircraft carrier to watch a day of takeoffs and landings. He was blown away but so disappointed we didn't get to go for the day , turns out vets and family were all welcome .

It's not somthing you see everyday so...it is ported 45 min from where i live.I have a boat but you can't get closer..
