difference between V10 400R vs V8 450R
Hi!
I have a 450R which I am very happy with. Upgraded from Johnson V8 3.6 300 - Promax 300 SVS - 2 x 2.5 EFI SS - Verado 350 Sci - Verado 400R L6 and now 450R. I wonder what is the performance difference between a V10 Verado 400R and a V8 450R? The V8 500R is too much both in money and hp for my ol Phantom. It’s taller has 418hp and has a bigger LU. Not really an upgrade for your application. Wait for a 500R to come down and save up.

If I am correct the Mercury Racing version has a Sportmaster LU of same size as 450R? Cheeers Toffen |
The propeller shaft is fatter. The 450R broke too many lower units.

Correct - I thought Toffen referred to the 500R.
