The new 1 tons even a 450 will pull the boats, I’d rather have the available stopping power as well. Especially for Atlanta or Miami traffic. Lol the sport chassis has a Jake brake, so coming down the mountains I never have to touch the air brakes.

I would entertain selling ours. I really like the toolbox storage and we built a custom rack that drops into the 5th wheel that allows you to carry a pair of engines or whatever. Another thing that’s really convenient about air brake trucks is you can run any air tools off from the air tank. We carry a hose and a bunch of air tools in the storage compartment.

This one had a 6.7 Cummins in it, and it loved the diesel. 45 mph up Jellico was all it had. Pintle made it bouncy when you’d get on the roads with the whoops in them, or rough bridges.

I’ve been told they’re dogs pulling up hills. I presume this has to do with the trans / power set up as it seems there’s many power and trans set up options.

that is a nice set up. I kinda like the looks of the raised look though with the 22.5’s. What power is yours? Any issues pulling at speed or up hills?

Cat C7, I think it depends on the weight. When I pulled my 50 Nortech with triple diesels, which was probably 20K lbs. full of fuel, yeah it would bog down a little on steep climbs, but when I pull my 44 Outerlimits it doesn't seem to be affected much.

Thats why we went sportchassis. It would drop 2 gears and just spin 2500 all the way up the mountain. I think it was 320ish HP and 950ft/lbs with a 6 speed allison. Definitely not a fan of the Mercedes power stuff either. If you can find a 650 with the ISC cummins or a variant of it depending on year, that would be my pick. C7 cats are ok, but not my first pick.
