Yes, I live where there is a high risk of freeze damage if I don't.

When I did have to winterize I would drain block then use the flush and run the pink stuff through. Last run of the year change drive and engine oil.

Then like SeaFord said, change housing and pumps every spring.

The first step should be to drain the blocks completely that way you know the block is 100% pink stuff and not a mixed with water raising the freeze point.
I plug the pickups and use the same type of pump as Seeturdguy to fill the strainers as the engine is running .. takes about a minute before the blocks are filled and water is coming out the exhaust.
With the AC and intercoolers I use the same pump to force the water thru the overboards.

Yes, but mine goes to climate-controlled section. 200ft underground which also maybe nuke safe(LOL)!

Yep winterize in the ole mitten...."big boat" no thermostat so I don't even bother starting it. Just drain the block and pump it through the drive with a bilge pump till it dumps pink out of the exhaust then use the same pump to push it backwards through the intercooler as in pump it in the dumps as it's easier than trying to get it up the water pickup.

"Small boat" just a regular merc black small block 5.0 or 5.7 whatever it is....have a small horse trough from the farm store that I put wheels and a handle on....drain the block/manifolds then wheel that under the drive, has a bilge pump with muffs on it so I just hook it up like I'm running it on a hose, hook the pump to a battery, run the motor till it's up to temp. The trough catches the antifreeze as it comes out so I can usually get a few boats worth out of the antifreeze. Old man does boat work for a living so every little bit of antifreeze saved helps. Also check it with a refractometer to verify freeze point is well below -15.

Here in Virginia - it can be 100 in June/July and 0 in Jan/Feb.
Winterized two this weekend. On our little bowrider I use the muffs and a funnel. My wife stands outside and pours while I work the key and the fogging spray. When she's pouring the last gallon, I'll fog it and shut it down. This is a Merc 5.0 that has a "one point drain." I had never seen this setup until we got this boat. It has one valve located at the lowest point and all drains are connected to it. Simple turn of the knob is supposed to drain everything. I don't trust it though, I envision a chunk of coolant passage corrosion or a pebble from the river bottom blocking one, that's why I antifreeze it first.
The Checkmate I use the fresh water flush to pour antifreeze in, and again, fog it on the last gallon. Then I'll pull hoses and plugs to drain the block, pumps and exhaust.

I took the photo below because my dad and brother sent me a text of them out on the river in his pontoon this weekend. I sent this back as to say FU
