I believe the Nor-Tech folks were just being cagey with me because they didn't want to reveal the outboard-powered Monte Carlo before the show—as is their right—but wanted to let people know they were bringing something other than a center console.
For the record, photos don't do that boat justice. I mean, damn.

The outboard propulsion is new for the Monte Carlo. All prior Monte Carlos had stern-drive power. The Flyers were/are outboard-equipped.
I'm sorry you were disappointed, though. I thought it was a beautiful boat with, again new for the line, outboard power. To each his own.

I was all hyped on it. trip 500's, 80mph and a do all type of boat. Cruise, poker run and fish. Unfortunately, after looking at one during the Biloxi show, I came a way unimpressed. Now to be fair this was the first one finished and being used as a demo. It just felt underwhelming, cheap, thin seats with too soft of cushioning, poor ergonomics at helm station, no place to put your feet when sitting on seat...stuff like that. Some of the rigging stuff I didn't care for or what I have come use to from the big guys like Nortech. Other than that, I like the length, beam, look is ok and speed. Lastly the boat was just filthy, and I get it..its a demo but this was really dirty, especially the floor and all the compartments you open up.
Nortech needs to turn their 420 MC into a DC with a walk through like they did on their 46.
