Last year at McCormick Center .. They are moving it to a smaller venue (Rosemont) would imagine that it is getting too expensive and less and less vendors .
I enjoyed the show.
Larger boats with open bows , egg beaters and a cuddy you can still sleep few people is very attractive.( in like 10 years ..maybe)

I thought the show was awful. It use to be 10 times better with a lot more cruiser/ larger boats. 2019 or 2020 was the last time I went before this year, its gone way down hill IMO

I can see that .
Fun factor may depend on the alcohol level
I have no interest in large cruisers, there were a lot more boats that I would consider so I thought it was better than in the past but that`s just me.
We also go the first day right when it opens to avoid crowds and people, makes it more enjoyable .. certainly beats sitting at home looking at this gloomy weather

Super cool boats, they're coming up with really innovative designs. Our in-water boat show has been much smaller the past few years too. With prices averaging half a mil I can see why.

The ladies appear to like big, dangling things on boats.
I stopped going to the Chicago show even before COVID hit as I was done with paying $20+ just to park. Used to be fun and we would hit spots on the way home in Joliet, Lexington, and Towanda and make a full day of it.
Always liked the St. Louis show better but it is still mothballed. Might have gone this year if it was still happening just, as stated above, for something to do in this gloomy weather.

The St.Louis show has basically been replaced by the show in St. Charles, Mo at the convention center there. I like it better than the old downtown show although it's not nearly as big as the old boat and sports show downtown was. It is now the Ozark Marine Dealers Association St. Charles Boat Show 2/29 -3/3.

I cannot think of a single reason that I would want to go to ****cago, including a boat show. That said, it is good to see that the show has revived itself a bit and had a better selection of boats. It is always a good day to look at boats!
McCormick has, and will continue to lose conventions and shows. At some point, it will be another liability for the City.
