I think they just flooded the market. There were soooooo many of them on the lake when I was younger that everyone called them big block bayliners. My Dad was a Checkmate mate fan, so I am still a Checkmate fan. They were crosstown rivals back in the day in Ohio. Plus my Dad's mom's boyfriend had a baja jetboat when we had a checkmate eluder..... baja's were always the enemy. LOL

The more this thread goes on the more I am getting interested in a 33

That green 30 is gorgeous!! One thing that has always drove me nuts on Baja's is the on the side graphics they put the swoop towards the back with the big blank space in the middle...assumingly for the BAJA logo but I have seen tons of them with nothing in there and it just looks like something is missing to me. Wish they would have done away with that and just put a BAJA sticker somewhere else lol

Thanks for the compliment. The one thing I always did was remove all the sticker logo/names and then wet sand/buff the entire boat. It was unreal the difference it made in looks. I guess what was crazy to me is that I would just paint the windshield, vents and powdercoat the swim platform, along with a few other little pieces here and there, and I would always have people wanting to buy them after i did those little things. I can't count the times that people have asked me if our boats were brand new. There's still quite a few nice 33's out there, by the way.

Sounds like exactly what I would do if I bought one hahahaha....I really like the 4 bolster set up in some 33's...that with 525's would be perfect but not sure that they ever put 525's in a 33 unless special ordered??

I've only saw a few with 525 EFI's, but most I've saw with blue motors were 500 EFI's. That probably has to do more with the 33 model stopping around 04-05 and the 525 EFI coming out around 03.

Makes sense....I see there's one for sale with boxes and no motors....however 525's are crazy expensive if you can find them...would probably not be very cost effective to try and make one like I would want although what is cost effective in this hobby hahaha

I have to agree on the green Baja. That is a pretty cool look!

As a young teenager I got to ride in a 33 outlaw. Getting a bolster to sit in made feel really special.
