Honestly the more I look at them the more I like them...obviously they aren't a cig but the 33's remind me of older guns and I love everything about that!

And it's seems like it's not a huge feat of engineering to run a consistent 80-85 on 33's which I would be more than happy with....seems like a fairly efficient hull based on my research

That one look pretty clean too. With HP 500s

IIRC the 525's were around a 30K upgrade over the base 502 mpi's.......my 33 ran right at 70 with the 502's

I loved all my Baja's and it was what got me hooked as a young kid. I remember being at the lake and would see a Baja and say "someday I will own one". My first was a Hammer then a warmed up 502 in my 25 that was super fun then I owed several more, worked for Marine Max for many years selling them so I was very fortunate. I'd still have another 33 or a 40 but like all boats from the good ole days they are getting older like us and need work unfortunately. Like I said earlier dollar for dollar, bang for the buck you can't beat them. My 29 with HO's would surprise many people, ran a solid 80 with some tweaks, sanding some of the hook out etc. and run off and hide sometimes from some but sometimes it is the driver and the younger "no fear" attitude. Now that I am older I think back to some of the things I did and wonder how I didn't die lol. I've owned a 388 Hustler and a 35 Top Gun, loved the Hustler but all in all the Baja's were fun and more care free. Take care of them, maintain them and enjoy them. You aren't the fastest but it doesn't matter if you drop a half mil. + on a MTI or Skater, someone will always be faster.

Here's one of the Baja's you wouldn't want to tie up with. Shame on the OP for this post!

I want to know what's in that thing  super badass!

I've heard many times the 36 Outlaw hull was a copy of the 35 Cafe Racer hull. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but I can say I've really liked the ride of the 36 Outlaw out of all the Outlaw series boats.

BBYSTWY 03-26-2024 07:54 PM

I have read that a few times in researching...sounds like the cafe mold went through like 2-3 other people then Baja ended up with it and made the 36....that's the story anyway lol
