I use Chemical Guys Boat Hybrid Shine Spray. I'm really happy with how it works.

I seen this stuff at Wally World and almost grabbed it... I've got a yellow boat and compound and polish, then wax it with Presta UV Creme Wax every season but always seems to last only half the season.... How long have you found that HydroSlick hybrid to last?

I used the HydroSlick last spring, just before the start of the season, and it still looks better than the day we brought the boat home.

Honestly, I’m was planning on doing the full ceramic treatment this spring, but I think I’ll let it ride this year.

Damn, so a full season an no issues.... How is it applied, just a like a normal liquid wax, apply, let haze, and remove? Gonna have to do some reading I suppose. Thx

Pretty much. It’s more like a gel, though. I used the microfiber sponges, applying it with parallel strokes, in both directions, creating a crosshatch pattern, N-S, then E-W, then again both ways, to make sure of no missed spots, then let it “dry” for a couple minutes, then rub off to a shine. I bought a pack of microfiber towels, and, when it started to ball up instead of sub to a shine, I’d pitch the towel and start with a new one. I’d usually stick to about a 4’ X 4’ area at a time.

It’s nowhere near as good as a full ceramic, but it’s a lot less work (from what I’ve heard/read of the process), and. It’s, in my opinion, considerably better than just wax.

I used less than a full bottle on our boat, 28’ PQ. I gave the rest of the bottle to a neighbor that was getting ready to wash/wax his truck, and he was able to do his truck with what was left over.

To be fair, I haven’t gotten a really good look at it out in the sun yet. I keep it in my shop, under a tarp all winter, and I’ve gotten into it these last couple weeks to work on the gauges, but it hasn’t been out of the shop yet. I’ll make a final decision on whether I’m going to do the ceramic when I do. But, for now, under the shop lights, it still looks pretty damned good, after a full season, for a “wax” job.

I lied. I actually did it in October ‘22, according to the time stamp. This was immediately after getting it done. I like how you can see the reflection of stuff in the background in the “down the side” shots. We had washed it really well, then buffed it with a DA buffer and polishing compound, washed it again then put it away for the season. Then we got a couple really nice days, so I opened up the shop door and went at it while I was keeping a couple machines running. Took me the better part of the day, but with several interruptions throughout the day.
