Trim the drive so the propshaft is parallel to the bottom and then measure how deep the propshaft is below the hull.

Cool Boat.

The Challenger shop for assembly and rigging was in Cedar Springs, MI but if I remember correctly their molds were further north..Ludington sorta rings a bell, but could've been up in the Onekema/Frankfort area as well..that was a long time ago.

Mike Bowers and his son Sean (sp?) were the Challenger guys and had a few running around MI that would really go, especially back in that era...

I'm not on Facebook or other social media but if you could track either of those guys down - if they're still alive - they probably could answer your questions...might also search for Challenger owners group or similar.

Their 22 (AeroTech ?) and their 24 and 28 Super V hulls surprised a lot of guys with "name" boats back in the day when they went around them...

Good Luck

d

My dad bought a new 24 from Mike around 1990ish, that boat burnt in a house fire back in 97. My dad and I bought this one 10 or so years ago from Michigan. My dad talked to mike quite a bit when he bought his first boat and was at their shop a few times but I haven't been able to find a way to contact him.

propshaft is about 7,1/4" below the bottom, seems deep to me.

That is WAY deep. A -2 shorty lower should increase your speed.
