Hi Guys,
Picked up a great Gen V 454, that was refreshed.
It's a 365hp - 088 heads w a 228 / 236 114 cam - steel crank, dimple rods, forged flats w 8.5/1. Running a Merc 177sc w 2:1 ratio, and Teague superchiller, I'm assuming it ll be around 3.5psi after the chiller "loss of psi"
Question: Ring gaps were set at .018, but at such a low boost, should i open them up to .024 top and .026 bottom? Possibly re-pully-ing back to 5/5.5psi at a later date. Rpm 4800-5200.
Any experience opinions here are greatly appreciated.
Anybody have a set of those blue Merc valve covers they'd sell?
Thanks from Ontario fellas 🥃🥃
