Exhaust water spots/cleaner

On the cig I had some nice mufflers and they were a pain to keep clean.
I used to mix vinegar, CLR, and degreaser and use a sanding pad. at one point I had them Ceracoat clear coated, and ceramic coated , helped for a bit .
Now there`s even more to clean .. what do you guys use ??

I use 0000 steel wool with soap and water on my SS tips and any thing on them comes of very easily. I also polish all the SS and wax everything after each use, so that may be why any hard water spots come off easily, but I am super OCD about cleaning.

Not sure how your water is there but I use this after I go to Havasu on all the shiny transom stuff. No polishing just spray and wipe or hose off.

Toilet bowl cleaner works pretty well also.

I have yet to find that magic potion for keeping it perfect. The problem is the heat from the exhaust...it vaporizes the water and the mineral deposits are left behind causing the rings. Like you've been doing with the vinegar mix seems to work great for taking them off during a wash. As for polishing i have great luck with this cheap stuff called Shadazzle i found in Menards. I bought one and was blown away at how it cleaned rust spots off of stainless so i went and bought them out a week later as they were clearing them out. I guess they changed the packaging as they used to be in an orange tub but now looks to be white. Anyway you have to be care full on what you are cleaning with this stuff....it took off the black Bosch logo printed on the stainless panel on my oven like it was freshly painted!!
Works awesome on props :D i use it around the house too on faucets and sink tub spouts to take the water spots off...makes them all slick, like a fresh wax on your car afterwards too :D
Flitz also seems to work great at removing water marks especially on chrome......there's a TON of products that work just as good out there im sure...just have to put the elbow grease into it ;)

Yep, Biokleen for the win... best stuff I've found for exhaust tips.

Tank,

I wonder how this stuff will work on baked-on carbon/soot on exhaust tips...?

Thanks. Brad.
