Careful with it mounted lower than the engine. Very hard to purge all the air out of it. We took over maintenance on a boat from long island with a blown up zul engine and that was the cause. Obviously, you arent having issues. Just something to keep in mind. There's a reason merc mounts them up top. Nice job!

Thank you....yes I know the boat you are referring too....I can't comment though...I have a expansion tank above the heads....which makes bleeding air out alot easier....

park35 Thanks for Info. I am in process if rebuilding my dart tall deck non supercharged and planning on a heat exchanger 1/2 system. I also live on long island .Did Linco also make your expansion tank and the mounting brackets on the cooler. Looks Awesome Thanks for sharing.

Nice setup!
I'm running 509 CID with factory Merc big block heat exchangers in my old tub, 600 hp NA. The engines run around 175-180 at cruise, but at speeds above 60 mph they're 155-160. I do run thermostats (160 degrees). Love the fact that I do not have to worry about my cylinder heads becoming the sacrificial anodes. |
