496 ho just shuts off at 3000rpm, not consistent but random. Fuse pops at the ignition. Pulling my hair out. Chasing for problem for a couple months, new IAC,Crank sensor, checked all wiring. Switched the ignition, the problem follows the motor . Ugh

Have you had any issues with getting the boat to start, period. The fact that you state 3000 RPM, makes me think you could have an issue with the neutral safety switch.

Have you hooked it up to a Rinda scanner or similar to see if there are any lingering code?
Have you replaced the cam sensor?

Thanks for reply, starts fine, I'm in Chicago will run great 20 miles to dunes. Go to leave just about to roll over to get on plane, motor cuts out, totally just shuts off. Fuse pops at ignition. Will eventually get it to plane but must be under 3200 or will pop. Next weekend it will be fine. Trying to get it scanned today. So frustrating, sold the procharged boat to avoid all this down time. Any help greatly appreciated

What kind of fuse is it? How clean are your ground connections (battery, engine, under the dash) What is your volt gauge doing right before it happens?

All that checks out, no rough idle, no popping. Just beep and shuts off , new ignition fuse installed.
