I have a similar Hull (not a Cig), which came with 250 EFI 2 stroke, 25" lowers from the factory. I installed 2x Merc 400s @ 30", THEN had them converted to 25". I am also running Merc Enertia props, which seems to have a better "grip" on the water, less blowout/cavitation, than other props.

Before:

After (I don't have any trailer pics):

The 30" long shafts were way too low. It would porpoise pretty bad about 40-50mph. Have not run it yet with the 25" shafts, but I have three holes I can move them down if needed.

Excited to see how this runs. How deep are they set now relative to what I measured for you?

Couldn't tell ya Hogie, I'll let you know in the Spring / later this winter. It's up at the mechanics place and I need to go get it in a few weeks. Had to split the engines apart in order to get the shift fork down into the lowers. Bigger job than expected.

Word to the wise - if you think shortening or lengthening outboard engines isn't that bad - spend the extra time and get the ones at the correct length.

Other than that the boat has been fantastic, I really like it. A little different with a pad bottom boat. Up here, I prefer a true deep vee due to the roughness of Lake Erie. I've only been "on" a pad bottom boat, never driven or owned one. Certainly a noticeable difference between the two.
