Holy crap! I hope that all of the survivors get well soon.

Gas fumes in the bilge is no joke.

Running one's bilge blower does not guarantee that there will not be an explosion. This is especially true since most folks only run their blower for 5 or 10 seconds and then turn the key. So sad.

I like to run the blower then partially lift the hatch and do a sniff test.

This. ^^^ Everytime.

I've witnessed a few boat fires at start up. Not anything i want anyone to go thru.

I preach it and teach it to those I boat with, few do it.

I worked on a boat this year who’se blower switch didn’t work. I told the people and they said ‘what’s that ?’
They’ve owned this boat for about 20yrs !!!!

Please bring this topic up with those you know. Never assume !

When I'm prepping at the ramp I open the hatch a foot then I'll run the blowers after i launch while I park the truck before I start up.
