Blown alcohol with dry tractor pipes only.
Canopies are for racers and who wants to mess with Oxygen tanks, plus people need to see you.
Dock with crane and dyno room on dock.
Full time pit crew.
Buy your own insurance company.
Wait for those sweet 1 mile blasts past all the fishing boats that think they are fast.
Tow boat back to dock for rebuild.

Given where you are located, I would only consider purchasing a 39 or 44 MTI, from TnT Marine. The relationship they have with MTI is THE best; and folks like Steve and Josh at TnT will bend over backwards to take care of their customers' boating needs. They are second to none.

I boat at the lake as well. I have a 36 Wright performance, a 36 spectre (inboard), a NorTech CC, and 42 outboard cat in production. If I could afford to have a 42+ cat with 1100's there is no question that it would be the ultimate weapon for LOTO.
lmao! It seems you can afford that 42 cat with 1100 to me .:D

That's some funny chit! Funny because there are some exaggerated truths in there for sure.

I am in the middle of a Mystic C4000 build. I had a few Cigarettes and then a 50" Marquis SC (My one mistake) and then just sold my 2023 38' Mystic CC with quad 300r's. Very excited about the boat. Demo'd the C4000 and was blown away. We ran 124 with 3 people and 1/2 tanks. Boat is very big and the cockpit layout was a winner. Love the MTI as well but the price difference was attractive. The MTI will be faster with the same power but have heard from some the Mystic tunnel is the preferred ride in the rough water. Honestly I would be happy with any of the above mentioned boats. The outboards are reliable great warranty and super fuel efficient and have better resale. Insurance is a factor. I talked with several people before I found 2 companies that would write it and the Tres course is a must and I was quoted right around $12k. I have a boating resume thats 20 plus years.

I agree with Lucky Jr. once you go sitdown cat it would be very hard to go back to a V stand up.
We went out in some really sloppy stuff in a 36 Doug Wright in LOTO thought it handled it just as well as any 38 V without all the slamming.
Went out in a 42 MTI with 1350`s .. wasn`t rough but that Boat is as smooth as silk and the power just comes on like a freight train.

More cockpit room and much better reliability/MPG from an outboard cat with less rough water handling.Easier to insure. H2Live goes on adventures in a OB and 400-500 mile trips are no problem and trouble free. Knowing I could cross Lake Michigan and buzz around all summer reliably sounds really nice.

Inboard cat has the loud cool factor, less cockpit space, better rough water handling but if you live at loto the water is mostly calm during weekdays.
Personally I like the sound of the superchargers on a 450R at higher rpms.
If someone made a OB cat with a cabin like the new Nortech, I`d never wanna see another BBC in my life.
So over engine rebuilds and dealing with all that.

Good input and opinions. As others have said, I’d say it comes down to budget and amount of hours put on per season. My dream would be to have a I/O 40’+ cat for occasional use, poker runs etc, and a “hang out” boat for more daily use. If you’d use the cat for around 50hrs a season, and a 1100 qc4v gets 200-300hrs between rebuilds, seems like a no brainer to me.

Look forward to the inevitable 10+ pages to come during these winter months.

48 MTI ..
I wish cats had a back screen like some convertibles to stop the wind from coming forward.

I love how cats get on plane.. on the 36 DW you don`t even realize it .
