No reason to go with TNT when he is using it at LOTO. He can order direct from MTI. The factory is about 2 hours away from LOTO. I've spent some hours in a 34 and 44 MTI the past couple Summers and been on a couple MTI runs at LOTO. MTI takes great care of their of customers. The boats will take whatever you throw at them.

a 32 size range is something I have considered too both io and ob. What engines does yours have? Been easy as a first time cat?

I am at the 24.5mm.

i tried using Buzz for my MTI and he told me I had to take the Tres class to get insured too. But I ended up going to Jessica at WIA and she was half the price for the same coverage without the class, but when I take the class the insurance price will drop further yet.

Mine has the 710 ilmors with #6 drives, it is a neat package that gets surprisingly good fuel mileage. At least compared to my 38 lightning. It took a little getting used to, but I got comfortable pretty quick. Really easy to dock compared to my V. I ran around about 250 miles the first weekend I had it, by myself, just to get used to it.

this is similar to what I’ve considered. I actually considered a 368 Skater with 1100’s. But I almost think it is silly for with being a first time cat owner! I also haven’t had an io for awhile only ob so I admit I have forgot somewhat about feeling with io maintenance haha.

A 368 with 1100s might be a bit too much for a first cat.

Another thought worth mentioning, how are insurance companies numbers for merc qc4v power compare to custom similar power?

Edit: was also going to mention skater had a pretty sweet very new 368 with 700s listed recently..

Buy yourself a good used 40' Skater with a set of low hour Merc 1100s, PBC has Ronnie Szolack's beautiful white/black/gold one for sale right now. By far the best combination in that price range and WAY more boat than an outboard that costs the same. There's no comparison in ride quality in the rough between a 12,000# inboard 40' cat and a 7,000# outboard 40' cat, plus it will easily do 140 with passengers and fuel, where an outboard 40' will take 5 miles to maybe hit 120 with the same load if you're lucky. Do yourself a favor and go test drive a 40/1100 boat before you go buy, and hopefully you go out on a busy weekend, so you truly see the ride difference between the two in the rough - there's no comparison. I speak from personal experience, as I've owned everything from a 21' to a 46' cat (all Skaters) and a pretty even split of outboards and inboards. I currently own an inboard 36 Skater and an outboard 32 Skater. The attached pic is of Ronnie's 40' that's listed with PBC right now - that's me in the back seat from 2019 at LOTO SupercatFest week when Kenny Schomp owned it. It's a widened 40' Classic and is an amazing rig!

Yes, but TNT has some exclusive things they have developed with MTI, that you can only get through them as a dealership.

This, right here, is the answer.

1) Not a sticker; that’s paint.
2) One of the boats I’m referring to.

This boat is now in the Middle East. Former owner has his 3rd TnT Edition MTI cat (440X) on order. He knows Randy, Taylor, and everyone at MTI personally. This is just the path he chooses for the best overall experience. Both of his boats have sold in a few days of posting; even with a bunch more on the market at the same time. TnT knows how to do it and they have the global network to back that up. The new one will probably be for sale at the end of the 2025 season, too.

I don't want to cause a riot. But things like option groups, particular hardware choices, where certain controls are, etc. etc.
They've built, modified, and been in enough of them; that they know what works and doesn't.
As mentioned, they've sold quite a few to the Middle East and elsewhere overseas, and they know what works and what is desired over there; keeping the future resale market in mind.

When I was a Factory Representative for Active Thunder, I used to put together the "Sydwayz Option Package", knowing what things one would want today, what things got wired in together; so you could upgrade in the future. etc. I knew which options and choices worked for certain types and locations of boating vs. others. Same kind of knowledge "outside the box" vs. "inside the box", short term vs. long term, etc. etc.

those seem like a very reliable engine from what I have been reading. A 32 skater with that package seems like a really nice setup to me.
