I believe Citre Shine became NZ Blokes and is still in New Zealand to this day. The Citre Shine boat's deck was much flatter and no nav lights on the side. Do you have any more pics of Citreshine from above?

I am thinking this boat is the old Esso Ultron D-44 boat. I know there were 2 Esso Ultron 28's, the other one was S-44 I believe which is a different boat. If anyone has more pics of Esso Ultron D-44, I would greatly appreciate it!

S-44 Esso Ultron was the Warelius brothers from Finland.

So far I have come across the following although I dont know if 100% accurate:

Warelius bros out of Finland had two 28 skaters. The S-44 boat is a different boat than what my cousin just bought. The Warelius other boat, the D-44 boat (the YouTube video you posted), this looks just like what we have. The hatch on the starboard side just in front of the vent is a big identifier as that hatch is a different location on almost all of the dual canopied boats it looks like. The D-44 boat came in 3rd place in 1994 UIM Class III 4 Litre.

Petri Jokinen / Liro Saarinen then raced this boat and won the 1998 UIM Worlds in it.

At some point after that, it was sent to Argentina by Jokinen to compete in some kind of invitational race and it delaminated in the front sponsons then its been tossed around the USA ever since.

Was owned by the Ortemonds (they died in a 36 skater accident in April 2012 on Lake Pontchartain)

After that was owned by someone in Georgia, then at least 2 people in TN, I spoke with one of the TN owners. Then it went to Ontario Canada, then sold to Florida where they cut the canopies off and put an ugly windshield as well as a U Bench rear seating, which is how it stands today.

this 28 race just made it to my shop last week
was built with all the others in the 93-94 window
been in bermuda all its life was originally yellow when built
so can add on this 1 to the list of 2 canopy 28s
already fully gutted and cut off canopys for full pleasure conversion
any 1 wanting canopys,big rear hatch,,,,,lmk,,need gone
also the 1 at phills was the 1 that raced here and couple other countries
made it back here to houston,,,went through many hands till phill got the resto
as over 1/2 the balsa was gone so phill did awsome job to bring back to life

johnmiffco Do you know what name or names your boat used to race under?

johnmiffco 01-18-2025 12:59 PM

this is a customers boat that just bought and had shipped back here from bermuda for the conversion and resto
been in bermuda all its life so do not know a long history of owners there
no name on boat now just sponsors as can see in pic above as how looks now when got here
as was still racing it there with 300xs motors
do know it was originally a yellow hull when built

this is pics of masons boat that phil is finishing up
it was the 1 raced here then overseas in new zealand
then brought back to houston in 2019 hanging in his slip here
and sold many times till mason got it and took to phil as was pretty rough shape with lots of core and other issues
phil made it super nice and cant wait to see it on the water as is mason is a local guy
