Is it on a course? How big and how many laps? Racing other boats? How many? What is the cost?

We are starting each session with an ~hour long introduction course on offshore race boats and racing, leading to a safety briefing and safety walk-through and then its off to the docks. Yes, there will be a marked course with 8 turn buoys (7 left and 1 right) from just outside Boardwalk Village around Safety island...approx. 6 miles for each lap. 4-5 laps.
We will have 3 One Design Powerboats 'Bat Boats' (all 24's) to execute the driving experience. If you are to participate in the two day event, the second day, we will create a race day event with a mock driver's meeting, 'physicals', etc. Then we will attempt a yellow/green flag start with a pace boat, hopefully with two or more boats...this will depend on the safety assessment and conditions at the time. Leading to 4-5 timed laps. This is not a race.
1-day ‘Full Throttle’ Experience Special Event Price $695.00
2-day ‘Victory Lap’ Experience Special Event Price $1,295.00
Information can be found @ Boat Racing Experience - Grand Lake
You can secure your seat and pay via CC on the site.
Thank you for asking.

We owned a V24 “Batboat” for several years. It is the green “Early Detection” boat with the big pink ribbon (in honor of my mom). I have been in allot of boats, but this is the most unique (in a great way) boat that you will ever drive and well worth $695 to check it out. Even though the hull is very narrow, the wings do a great job of stabilizing, giving you a level “flight”, and taking away the harsh landings. Chris (RIP) always had a vision but was a bit challenged with execution (as in keeping boats operational). It is my understanding that the new ownership is better capitalized and the boats will be up to par. Like I say, for $700 it is a real chance to do something different. If there is a downside, running one will make you want to race one!!! Good luck carrying on the venture!

I get excited every time I hear someone’s ‘story’ related to these ‘Bat Boats’. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, Chris struggled with reliability, however, when folks did get a chance to drive and race them…they all had the same response…it was great!
I have been racing since 1997, in just about every class…no other class/style of boats brings the amazing attention and excitement these Bat Boats generate.
Then add on the exhilarating ride and competitiveness, you just can’t get a better experience!
And YES…I hope it leads you to racing…we offer that as well!
Thanks again.
