Whilst I respect it to the ground and all of our patriotic setups let’s try and avoid n our own loyalty’s and patriotism. I’m no exception.
but just interested.
During changing times and places.

Some areas are geographically blessed (great lakes for eg) but others are hardcore passionate for obvious history reasons. FL comes to mind ( believe it or not 😂lol).
In terms of sheer no’s of boats, dollars and enthusiasts, businesses, popularity.

Thought it was an interesting food for debate.
also interesting that all these rigs & As our banner hasn’t changed for decades are deep V hull based for offshore and yet so many are run on still & flat water !! The definition of oldschool big offshore V’s

But let’s not let that get us off topic we all know as Gordon light foot sang how the legend / perils live down from the Chippewa on down.

I certainly haven't been to every boating hotspot in the US, but I would guess loto has the biggest performance boating crowd. Sure places like Florida and the Great Lakes have more boats in total but the percentage of performance boats at loto along with all the bars/restauraunts/events that happen there seems higher than anywhere I've been.

Lake Michigan has 40% snail boats and 50% cruisers.

That's easy.

LOTO. As stated above. LOTO is the Mecca of performance boating.
Right up there are also -
Havasu for the greatest actual mix of type and sized performance boats. And 90% or more of the boats you see on the lake in Havasu are performance boats, big and small, built from coast to coast, you'll guarantee see something form every builder at some point.
South Florida. As far as performance boat industry goes, Florida is still number one. shops and builders.

Id throw in the mid Atlantic Chesapeake bay area, We have a number of high performance, cats as well as V hulls. I do also believe we had one of the very first turbine pleasure skaters ever built. we have hosted a shootout of our own in a much smaller form, but there are many performance boats in the area as well as some of the industry's best shops.

Agreed, but I would specify Southwest Florida in the winter months with Fort Myers Offshore for events. There also are plenty of businesses on this side of the state including Nor-Tech, Manatee Marine Unlimited, Statement Marine, Innovation Marine, Shaun Torrente Racing and others.

I base a lot of "where things are hot" on events that attract go-fast powerboat owners and, more important to anyone looking for business opportunities in the marketplace, would-be owners. Starting next weekend with the Performance Boat Center Spring Fun, the Lake of the Ozarks is pretty much nonstop with events till fall.

Everyone measures things a bit differently, right?

My experience is all over the Midwest and Florida. LOTO and it’s not even close.

I took some FL friends there last summer and they were blown away by the hardware.

LOTO is far and away the spot to be for 8 months of the year. Many of the people are dual residents between there and Ft. Myers/Cape Coral. I like both locations but LOTO living is sooo easy and always something going on.
