not sure which one it needs to be on. Looking at the pump down in the engine bay it’s on the fitting closest to me then behind it is another hose that runs under the engine over to the oil cooler

When I got my hoses backwards it would not move any water. Don't think that's your problem.

finally cracked the case on it. The port where water goes out of the impeller housing to the engine was completely plugged full of the old shredded impeller. Ordered a new housing and impeller just because and will be dropping the boat in water this week

Does that mean thr impeller was destroyed? Or remnants of an old impeller was blocking flow?

it was remnants of an old one. The guy I bought it from said it shredded one and he replaced it which seems to be true because the one in it looked fairly good. Not sure how he didn’t notice the blockage from the old one but that’s the reason I got a deal on the boat lol
