This wasn't a billion dollar decision. They bought the name/molds from the guy in NC that bought them from Hustler a few years prior. This could have been a 100K deal (or less).

It gives them a name brand for the small sport boat single engine market that they already compete in.

Me: I like the Checkmate 24 open bow better than the 23 SC or 22 Punisher. I think it just gives the customer more product to choose from.
