Any idea on how many boats they are building nowadays?

Always liked Checkmate and of course love Velocity. It will be fun watching what happens.

Caldwell has produced several of the updated 24 and they had the updated 21 out of the mold on their website along with an updated 26.

WHY? I don't see why Velocity would do this... the Checkmates are totally different boat, different bottom, different entry and more... they don't fit into the line up that Velocity currently has, and I believe Velocity needs to "focus" on what they have now before promoting another brand - but then, Scott knows best.

Our first boat was a Checkmate 259 Convincor. We bought it new in 2002, a 2000 model leftover in inventory. Loved that boat. It was built really well. Added full hydraulic steering, performance tabs and 85HP to a 454 MAG. Always impressed on how that boat handled LOTO. I think Velocity will find a nice niche with those molds. Hopefully they move some of the Ohio Checkmate employees down to Florida with the molds🍻

The Bucyrus Checkmate people are long gone.

I currently own a 24 and 21 Checkmate. Both serve my purposes well. I’m just glad to see the brand get another chance to stay relevant.
