Default Looking for Real World Loaded and Unloaded Speeds with Triple 500s

Helping a friend order a new Nortech 390 CC and his family loves to swim off the platform. Quad engines don't allow that and the dive door is not as convenient. Trying to decide if triple 500s will satisfy. They Fill the tanks every trip out and run long distances in the great lakes so they are usually loaded pretty heavy. The dealer and factory have been excellent to work with so far and they love their current 390 with triple 350s, just want more power especially cruising speed and acceleration. Not super worried about top speed number but it is easiest to correlate what the rest of the performance will be. There just hasn't been alot of 390s built with triple 500s, if any. Most are quad 400s.

Post speeds of any comparable boat or setup please! And any advice is appreciated! These are good problems to have!

Boat will be good with triple 500s. Quad motor set ups constantly bark the outside when they are set up with high X dimensions. With a light to medium load (2 to 5 people and half tank of fuel) the boat will accelerate hard and can be set up for a mid to upper 80s top end. There are a bunch of triple 450 39's out there.

If they care about range and not speed, triple V10 400s would use less fuel than the blower motors.

Twin V12 600’s will weigh less than a quad V10 400 setup and with only two motors it will be very efficient. I would think 80+ and only have two engines clogging up the transom.

Yes that's the smartest choice but not fast enough Cruise speed. They ordered the extra 80gal fuel tank plus the standard 250ish gal so Range is not the issue, having good acceleration and Cruise speed when loaded heavy is. He's actually considering quad 500s just cause this is his toy and it's badass lol!

Just really want to know if triple 500s will satisfy or will he want more. Swim platform was really nice we swam off it also, but I'll never admit to riding on a CC though...

Triple 500s = 1500 hp nominal output, 3 really fat lower units worth of drag, and better engine placement
Quad 400s = 1600 hp nominal output, 4 slightly less fat lower units worth of drag, and worse engine placement

Quad 400s should be close enough of a benchmark for whether or not he will be happy with triple 500.

The 39s are running 92 to 94 with quad V10s.

Lots of good input but still looking to see if anyone actually has a similar size boat with triple 500s?

What about Triple 450s? How did those run?
