New teams and much more made the St. Petersburg Grand Prix a compelling event.

Man.... We REALLY need a sarcasm font. But...
It's been joked about since forever that we all tune into the races (whatever is being raced) for the crashes. While nobody wants to see anybody hurt, let's not pretend it doesn't have at least a grain of truth.
Also.... Kinda not the same thing. We all knew the Bandido drivers were OK almost instantly, and I'm sure Matt wouldn't have said what he said if it had turned out differently.
Thanks. Brad

Not this guy 18 years of racing Motocross, I do not like the crashes. I ever raced stand up jet skies for Jim Schultz (factory billet) back in the day. I guess racers and spectators have a different way of thinking. All good, not looking to argue. All friends here

I can't disagree with any of that. Like I said, I doubt Matt's observation would have been lighthearted, or even mentioned at all, had the outcome been different.
FWIW... I never raced anything "in-cockpit", except a couple years of BMX as a kid. I did a ton of racing of high performance model boats, but there's no actual danger in that; only money. As long as the boats stay ON the water and the spectators observe overt warnings, we just laugh about mishaps over dinner. There is definitely a different perspective actually being in or on the contraption.
Thanks. Brad.
