Regarding the 37 OL at Bullock Marine:
Based on the picture of the engine compartment, I get the feeling that they may have mounted the engines far apart, thus making the drives far apart. That seems a bit abnormal to me. Most times, you see the manufacturers trying to stagger to get the engines/drives as close together as possible to obtain the best balance.
Any thoughts?

Hey HP-],
I think this is a great deal on a 37 Outerlimits.
1998 with triple 598ci big blocks (740 hp each). Runs 110 on GPS. Bravo XZ drives with Stellings boxes. Boat has all kinds of features and options including A/C, Vacuflush, etc...
Priced at $187,500 (trades considered) Located in WI.
Contact info: Rod @ 920-236-4220

I have spoken with Rod already. I'm not sure if I want a boat with triples.
Here's a question for you, however. I asked why the boat doesn't have 4-blade props, and he said that boat does not like them and causes it to skip (?). I have not heard of this before. Why would that happen. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Its true, we tried several different sizes and configurations of Bravo I's during testing and every one caused the boat to hop between 80 and 90 MPH, everywhere else it was fine. It just did not want to run there with those props.
I believe its because the boat has so much natural bow lift at those speeds that the Bravo props picked it off its natural running surface but couldn't sustain it, causing it to hop. Once you moved past 90 MPH it settled down and was just fine.
Another bit of observation......most stepped bottom boats run 4 blade props because they need to or they couldn't get on plane. This comes on plane at 1800 rpms with three blades, I'm pretty sure somethings right. The boat is also faster by 3 MPH with the three blades. Better setup all the way around. Bonus points, three blade props don't load the drives as hard as 4 blade props. Add it up.
