Dumb question
are shoal or sand bars marked via buoy
or on a chart or digital chart in boat for lakes
Our test lake; lake fork
has boat lanes with buoys
if you are close to them its all good
But the underwater hazards like old bridges etc are not msrked except in charts navionics etc
I know icw and inlets are marked well
But here, lakes are pretty vague
seems a sand bar popping up in a lake is something that would not move around much.
curious

happened at the river opening in lake havasu. There’s no markers. Sand shifts basically every season and you add in a fluctuation of river water making an area fine to run through in the morning and not fine in the afternoon at times. You REALLY need to know your line there. And it’s narrow AF and you get boats coming and going around a nearly blind curve. The owner of this boat l, from what I’ve heard knew the area well and took the usual line. But maybe the water was down a little further than usual (?).

When we go through there it’s Pucker city!! Pull your feet up, trim up, stay on plane and fingers crossed!!!

this is where it happened and this is the line you have to take. You can see how narrow it is. The other side of the island is too shallow all the way across.

Thanks
that looks more like inlets in the ICW
been grabbed by one before. But not at speed
Explains alot,
cans or other markers would be useless
Every day we learn a bit of new about places not in our orbit
thank you

The river was crazy low when he was running as well, probably didn't check the Davis Dam release schedule and just caught it at a really bad time, it's easy to do and they've been running as little water as I've ever seen. Glad everyone is ok!

Default Very Tricky

This entrance to the river is super tricky and every time I run through is like a crap shoot. It needs to be dredged.

LOTO just keeps getting better and better for performance boating.
