lol, how's this waiting out the rain ..In Europe, it's perfectly normal to go topless—my mom would do it every time we hit the beach, and nobody batted an eye. In the US, though, nipples are EVIL for some reason.

Do they work at 165? Because the 1350 cats run them speeds now pretty normal. I have noticed we have been less worried about life jackets when the boats have gotten that fast not saying it’s right. I remember back in the day in a V bottom we would wear lifelines if we were running over 100 . now it’s not uncommon to run 150 in a cat just going to lunch and no one wears a life jacket

This thread reminds me of years ago. When States made seat belts policy and started fining people when they weren't wearing them. People would complain that it's my body, I'm an adult, it reduces my personal freedom, it takes away my right to choose whether or not to buckle up. Never mind that seatbelt safe 15,000 lives each year for the ones that wear them.

And here we are with a new policy and people are complaining about some of the same talking points. Never mind that 87% of the people that drowned were not wearing a Personal Floatation Device.

There's no sense in whining about it. It's policy now.

Probably don't need to be concerned with survival at 165+. At least the life jacket will float you up and keep the big catfish from feeding on you for a day or 2 until the Water Patrol finds your body.

Some of us place a high value on personal freedom, something you may not fully appreciate. History shows that giving up freedom often starts small and grows into a slippery slope. I believe in minimal government involvement and don’t need it dictating my personal choices, particularly in my own vehicle. Wearing a seat belt should be a personal decision.

"no sense whinning about it " is exactly how weak men (not you in particular) create hard times for the rest of us.

This has nothing to do with government involvement. This has to do with a magazine policy change. And they're not saying that you have to wear a PFD. They're saying that you won't be in there pictorial if you don't. The choice is still yours.
