I’m not as old school (or old) as a lot of these guys but coming up on 20 years of OSO.

Crazy to think I’ve been checking out this website every day basically for two decades, but it’s been a great ride. Wish there was more activity like in the old days but I guess all seasons come and go. Still very appreciative of the help and knowledge on here.

joined because I wanted to buy an old SeaRay Pachanga. Glad I found my way to my Cafe Racer instead.

Do I qualify?

I think we are just old. I was originally on here in 2001 or 2002 but when my wife got sick I was absent for several years and lost my log in stuff so rejoined in 2007 so I guess that makes me one of the older ones around here.

You know what was / is great about this place. The fact that actual industry people were on here all the time. Boat builders, performance shop owners, big dealers, well known interior people, specialty parts, in the mix with the average joes like me. You can’t do that on social media because all social media is full of haters. Plus, social media is scattered. This place was a hub of like minded individuals that could BS online in between seeing each other across the country at events. This site was responsible for bringing everyone together. Pretty cool when you think about it. It’s still here. And I know for a fact industry people still check in. It’s slowed down but this place ain’t dead yet. 27/28 years later (I remember the online boat sales bulletin board this place started as in 98ish) still going. Kinda cool.

carry on.

Exactly, well put.

Still here, not going anywhere, I love OSO !

TomFTM 03-15-2026 07:04 AM

Still here. Check the site almost every day..

XSNSX 03-15-2026 07:39 PM

Still here, but check in less often due to the number of threads with links to SOTW that litter the forum.

I agree too but I also realize that those are about all that's left and I enjoy reading a fair number of those. I wish I could check in every evening and find a new thread about someone's adventures or project but the fact is that's just not happening.

Craney 03-15-2026 08:28 PM

Make OSO great again!!

SB 03-15-2026 09:56 PM

Just checked. Been here since 2004. Yikes.
Still work/live mostly on dirt and still smell like Walmart :)
I/O’s still…Not many outboards (not counting fishing boats) around here (my neck of the woods) but starting to show up a little.

Hot Duck 03-16-2026 01:14 AM

Still here and checking out new posts every week or two.

Kurt aka Biggus

Checking in also, been here for a minute too.
Still get on weekly, but OSO crowd has certainly
changed over the years.

Inregards to WaterFowl... I actually sold him that boat. WaterFowl was my second boat, It used to say (Summer Heat) from when Roger Kerkstra owned it, Roger had purchased it new, I was the 2nd owner & put the WaterFoul graphics on it, then WaterFowl bought it & I have lost track of it since he has went radio silent too.

Still here off and on. Had to reset password been so long. Avanti up for sale, not much luck, but not trying too hard. Warming up, I'll put in high gear. Old school boaters are a thing of the past, not into SUV's on the water.

tommymonza 03-17-2026 07:58 PM

Like I said I check in occasionally but hanging out on cruiser and trawler forums these days preparing for the slow life .

I still have my Baron but it needs a full resto and don’t see the energy to do it nor the enthusiasm to run it anymore .

Going to be a shame for this site to go down some day with the wealth of irreplaceable history and information, losing Donzi.net was a huge loss.

Why the new screen names??? I'm guessing you don't have access to your old registered email (robert*******@adelphia.net) to do a password reset?? I can get your registered email changed so you can get Tonto back........BUT, it can't be the same email that is for Keys Disease.
Don't see a Medicine Man screen name anywhere in OSO history but Tonto is memebr 255 and joined in Oct 2000 at the very beginning of OSO.

Boating got put on the back burner for the kid’s hobbies

Then they got older and wanted to go boating again

Not super old, but I still pop in to look around. I miss IMB's, Social media groups have ruined them. I always find myself surfing here when Im looking for some obscure information on an old hull, or history of offshore. I was way too far into trucks in the early days of oso. I got into boats in 2013 and i did a lot of research here. I bought a lot through the swap shop too.

Wouldve been fun back in the early days, I missed out.

Tank, whered you get that pic of Darren? I havent seen him in a while, since he retired and sold Money Shot. Its back in Michigan though and going to be back on lake erie. Missed you in key west this year. LOL

blue thunder 03-20-2026 06:29 AM

I'm still here and still blowing up engines in my old resin bucket

BT

What's up man!? That pic was from a party at Dino's house in the Truman Annex at the Key West Run in like 07ish. Funny, we were there partying and drinking this wine Dino had and it was REALLY good and I don't know wine but we're going through it, we're like 4 bottles in and a friend of ours that was with us was like, "You do know this wines like $700 a bottle right?" YIKES. Dino never said a thing. Never even looked sideways at us. I apologized to him and said I didn't realize and he was like, no worries, man. Good dude.

I haven't talked to Darren in a couple years. Last time was in LOTO when he brought Money Shot, believe it was the same year he sold it. Darren's a solid dude. Wonder where Money Shot is now. Great boat. I'll have to text him and tell him we're talking about him on here. lol

Hope things are well brother.

haha!!! He wouldn’t have had that wine if your weren’t supposed to drink it.

yes Darren sold it that year or next. It went to loto, and a guy from Michigan brought it back. I didn’t know him but he owned a big tow company. Unfortunately he passed away, it was left to a friend of his and is still in the downriver area. Haven’t seen it, but I know it’s here.

I know Dave is still doing Dave stuff. Seemed like every time I would stop to see him, OSO was pulled up on the computer. Haven’t seen the male nurse lately though.
