The Avanti does 80
The Benz does about 140+
the home stereo does 135 db
and my mountain bike does 32.......
As for the male nurse thing.... been doing hospice for 10 years...killing people pays the bills. Saving lives is just too much damn work.

Whole new stereotype there that for my own well being will leave alone 🙈

Most will remember the Rob's Mom stories...Lost Mom a couple years ago...Dad's 85, he bought a trawler and took off on the great loop.

Still have my microboat...

yea I just looked you up and seen you haven’t posted much since your mothers passing . You should be onboard with dad for that adventure, what does he have for a trawler ?

Indy 03-20-2026 07:59 PM

Heidi wants to do the Great Loop. I have a customer that keeps begging me to buy his Mainship. It’s been in a pole barn for 18 years. In excellent condition. I would have to cut trees down to get it out of his driveway. Maybe a retirement project?

Where is it located ? Diesel ? There’s already soo many well cared for older boats for sale that I bet if you offered them 50 cents on the dollar they would jump on it.

My experience out at one of the last of the do it yourself boat yards in south Florida is the older folks are getting out of it after decades in and young people aren’t buying big boats.

Boats that need major work from neglect just aren’t worth the time as you get older especially if you can buy a similar well cared for freshwater boat.

ham_r_down01 03-20-2026 08:39 PM

Sorry to hear about your mom Rob. They were always some wild adventures. LOL Glad you got the avanti done. One day ill get my gun out of paint jail.

sadly my customer is not in very good shape. He would give me the boat. It is a diesel with very low hours. He has a cool cabin he lives in, he built in the late 80’s. His road is in suck bad shape it would cost me $5000.00 to make it passable. Pretty smart old guy. If I took the boat he would get a fixed up road. LOL

thisistank 03-21-2026 11:02 AM

Great loops on the bucket list!!

bajaman 03-21-2026 03:47 PM

It's cool to read the stories and see the camaraderie between members, many of whom were part of that 'founding fathers'. Think of how the times have changed, how the people have changed, the boats themselves...crazy.

I see your up in Boyne city. I’ll be up in Luther for the summer and have a fresh Stihl chainsaw.

BlueOval 03-23-2026 09:53 AM

Yes Boyne. I still do not want a boat that I have to keep in a Marina at this time. Sold the big boat in 2018. We really have enjoyed the center console and the RIB. I would like to see Harold's boat back in the water, but not up to it yet. Thank you for the offer.

if he had OSO up on his computer, that’s when you sneak on and post dumb chit under his screen name 🤣. Lots of good old threads that started that way when one of us was posting as another member.

He was in the chair spinning and posting. :lolhit:

baronmarine 03-27-2026 02:36 PM

Boy I have not posted in years! But since my little brother Tmonza is blowing this up, thought it must be time.Great to see some of the old names from the past, brings back lots of memories. I check the site from time to time. Never seems to much going on. The Cig has been gone 6 -7 years now, still have a unfinished Baron in the shop, that I plan on finishing this year since I retire this Tuesday. This will be the best April fools ever!!! We are on Formula 400 SS #2 now, hard top this time with 520's.

Yes sadly Shawn passed away probably 10 years ago. He was a good guy we lost when far too young. Think his screen name was Airpacker.

Bob

mountainmadness 04-03-2026 10:03 AM

No ****. That's no good, he was around my age I believe.

Dragon's were cool boats. Cool designs. Craig and Scott knocked it out the park with Dragons but eventually ran into problems. That was Eric and Lidias boat. Eric was on here frequently back in the day. That boat was plagued with issues from build quality to performance issues. He had a **** ton of money into that thing. It was absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't look like that anymore it was converted to the maroon one or the dark blue one I believe. Can't remember which now.
