a friend of mine is an airforce general. His previous position was a "JAG" (like taht show) some kind of air force prosecutor or soemthing. As a reward for soem high profile case a while back his commanding officer as a reward asked him what his choice of assignments was. It was right about the time the sr-71 was being decommisioned. He asked if he coudl fly one of them on its final mission. It was to be delivered to nasa where it could be converted for use as an atmospheric research platform. He allowed him to fly around the planet and then deliver it. He is a very interesteing fellow might I add lots of very interesting stories.
