Hard to give an estimate without looking at it. If the drives are a pre 0M serial number, yes do the other one too. There is an upper gear upgrade kit to change to the latest style gears and clutch, it is pretty reasonable. I will try to rememeber to look up the price when I get to work.

Been there, done that (twice). You broke the "floor" out of your forward gear. You can replace it with a stock gear, or try an "after-market" gear.

I currently have an IMCO gear in my Bravo.

Contact The Bravo Shop in Fort Myers, FLA. They will take good care of you.

Good luck!

Pete, take it to h20 Marine on 10 th street. Harry will fix it for you, he probly has parts ,new or used to fix it. It's no big deal, it's just a typical Bravo thing. At least it's a Bravo, I broke a #5 a while back and it was very painful.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses.
For those trying to send PM's, it says my mail box is full, but there's nothing in it. I'm trying to get OSO to fix it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Pete, when going into your PM area make sure you check your "sent items" folder and clean it out or delete any unwanted messages. This area is often overlooked because when you intially go into your PM area it only shows messages that others have sent you---it does NOT initially show you what you have sent out called "sent items". You have to click on "sent items" and the PM's that you have sent out will pop up, and if it has too many sent out messages from you, it can can keep you from recieving any incoming messages as well. Deleting some of those "sent items" from you should enable you to recieve PM's again. Hope I didn't confuse you.

Thanks, It worked!

Yes, it was the floor of the upper gear. I'm comparing prices to repair, or to replace the entire Upper Unit.

Looks like repair would be $1,000 each for parts, plus labor (don't have an estimate yet, but someone said $600).
$2,300 for a new Upper: perhaps can do better.

Any thoughts?

General rule of thumb, if you like to run hard you can typically plan on getting a good 50 + hours out of a bravo befor its time to rebuild. If you are not tight on cash I would have both of them done at the same time. Not necessary though, just keep it in the back of your mind.
