Sonic beat 'em all!!!

The Mag asked each manufacturer to provide an "entry level" boat in the 30-32 foot class. Each manufacturer provided what they interpretted that as.....except two, Cig & Fountain. The Cig w/575's was all they had built on hand & Fountain.... well that's the best it get's for a Fountain 32 (small blocks !! Go figure!!).
Actually, the article did not say that Sonic was the best boat.... just that it was the best OVERALL as provided !! and considering the prices as provided put the Sonic on top when all options available included ran the Sonic to $157K. Less than all but the fountain with small blocks. It was second lowest in price and second in performance (below the Cig w/575's). It was pointed out that the Formula did win in the Luxury & appointments category but was third in performance (below Sonic).
This really makes me happy as I own both Sonic & Formula's as tested!

Looks like Dano needs to take some more orders. I heard he sold some great units this month, which is hard to do when it is freezing up here!

Before I owned a boat , I thought I wanted a Fountain. I was taken with all the hype about Reggie, and the speed record runs.
When it was time to actually do my research and buy a boat, I ended up with the Sonic. Even though it's an older one,my reasons were, cabin room, stability, and of course styling, I love the arch, I really think it sets the boat off, oh yea don't forget those twin efi 5.7's. All in all I am VERY satisfied with my Sonic. When it's time to upgrade, I'll be looking for a 42SS for sure!

Yup read the article...it comes down to a cost/value ratio of the boats tested. There are a lot of nice boats in that class and yes it would have been nice to have a AT/Powerplay/Baja thrown in. Personally I think in that size the Sonic is the best value (hehe). Of course you can jump up to 500's and have a mid 80's ride. I have a couple 31's well powered with HO's through to the 575's. A couple late model used ones as well (shameless plug...)
