Hey Mr G, I see in your profile you have a 26 foot cat. Do you run it in the ocean? How often? How big?

Uncle, I have a 26 American Offshore Cat, 468 EFI Procharged. When I got in in 98 I ran it alot out of Newport up to LB. Now I keep it in Havavsu and just use it out there. I got myself into a few situations in the ocean that were a scary So I just use in the fresh water now. Thats why I was trying to bum a ride off Phantom Chaos tomorrow.

Interesting - with your experience in SoCal waters, how big a cat would you need to be safe?

I'm sure I'll get an arguement here but in my opinion 31 would be the shortest. A 36 would be great all around river and ocean. Soon I'll have my 46 Skater so I'll be all good

I think I will agree with you on that one. I would do a minimum of 30ft. on the ocean. But then again, nothing is ever bigg enough.

36-38 is a nice size to be comfortible on the ocean, be able to trailer, manuver the boat in tight spaces, and go on the rivers etc.
