omc gives a bore spec. wisco does not. if it is a new sleeve bored to std what ever that is,and that's it no more. some shops go over slighty if you are going to use wisco's but i don't and have installed many with out problems. proper setup and breakin has always worked. fyi

Like the others, I WILL not nor have I used them in any of my 2 stroke MX Bikes or ATV's. Others warned me years ago to stay away from them.

Ok. So everyone says stay away from 2 stroke Wisecos.
What about 4 strokes any problems???

To answer your questions, I think the first failure was due to a piston ring land failure. We were testing in Freeport in the Bahamas and got a shower of oil and aluminum out one of the tailpipes. When the ring land lets go at 7500 RPM it just starts sending shrapnel thought the whole engine and the piston just becomes a ball.Second failure was in the piston pin area at The Worlds in the second race. Same result tons of aluminum.

I don't trust ROUND pistons. All the good ones are cam turned and aren't really ROUND when cold...

I've used Wiseco's in Merc outboards. Overbored additional .0015 and opened ring gap additional .005
Never had a failure. Also never used any over 8000rpm. Only used factory Merc pistons in the 8500 - 9000 rpm range...
