Yes, the sandbar has been closed in recent years (last 2) during Memorial and July 4th holiday weekends, and sometimes the Labor Day weekend. They feel it's too busy to be safe. I'll have to dig some stuff up for you guys.

Come on Phantom, the real reason they have closed the sand bar in recent years is due to gang violence. Hey, don't forget to bring your gun with ya. Sounds like fun to me.

Actually, it was due to to much public sex and nudity.....seriously!

However, even though the sand bar goes off....so does Copper canyon, steam boat cove, and the channel amone other places. Then again you could just run up the river to Laughlin for some gambling too!;)

Do you realize how many websites revolve around just boating on Havasu? Probabaly 50 at least. Clothing, boating, photos, chatrooms, movie productions.........the list goes on and on.
